fuel pressure
got the car dynoed a few weeks ago and it was running pretty rich. i think like 11.5-12 a/f at WOT. ive had this mech fuel press gauge laying around for a bit and decided to jsut hoot to the the fuel rail today. Idles at 30 psi and when revved up it jumps to about 38? Ive always thought that idle at around 35 and driving the psi being at 40. So how can i be running rich with low fuel press on stock injectors? only mods are ported e7s full exhaust and moroso intake. I picked up a aeromotive fuel pressure reg, but dont know exactly how to hook it up. i see the allan head for adjusting, the vacuum line that can be removed? and the top threding that im guessing is for a braided line??( does it have to be hooked up to something ) if i put the aeromotive on can i jsut leave the mech fuel press gauge on the line? will it read right?
sorry for all the ?s but i wanna get this richness dealt with.
thanks
david

mine runs around 28 psi at idle and 48 psi at WOT and mines stock also....dont know why you would be running rich.....

Mine is idling at 40 and hits around 60 at WOT and I'm running lean up top LOL
I don't think pressure is necessarily synonymous with A/F ratio. Sam @ Coastal was talking to someone about that when they kept trying to adjust the fuel pressure to lean it out.
You should get a tune to fix that issue.

:-\ i was tryin to aviod that since all they can do with my car is fuel pressure and timming... dont really think its worth it. since i can do both bymelf once i get this rich thing taken care of? anyone else have an idea on what it could be
Try cleaning the elements on your MAF meter.
The other allen-headed screw on the Aeromotive regulator below the vacuum line, I was told, was for a fuel pressure gauge. BTW, on my car the vacuum line and the EGR valve try to occupy the same space so don't get discouraged. You may have to buy a section of vacuum line to replace the one going between the stock regulator and the intake, the stock one may not reach. When I had stock injectors, I had the fuel pressure set at 38 psi with the vacuum line in at idle, seemed to run best there. Good luck.

The vacuum line should be hooked up while you're driving. To adjust the fuel pressure, pull the vacuum line off whil the car is idling. Loosen the lock nut on the threaded, allen head bolt and turh the allen head to adjust the pressure. You should set your combo at stock opressure which is 39 psi with the vacuum off. Hold the allen head steady after you get there and tighten the lock nut. Hook up the vacuum line and you should be ready to go.

ok so let me get this straight.. sorry if i sound like a retard but i really dont know how this works. The threded stud on top is set up for a fuel press line/gauge?( does it be topped off with either a gauge or line or can it remain open) the vacuum line bove the allen head is where the stock vacuum line off the intake manifold goes? and u just adjust it from the allen? could i move the gauge to the regulator for easier access to it? thanks again ...
oh why would my stock fuel press be at 30 idle and not 39?
