I have late model 5.0 with no eyebrows cut into pistons I was thinking of tfs stage 1 but do not want to buy it unless it will fit I have all tools to ck valve to piston clearance but would still have to purchase cam to even check.
the pistons have a very slight dish like 1mm. the tfs is .499/.510 221/225 @.050 has anyone done this combo? or know anyone who has or any recomendations oh also stock valves

Was this motor pulled from a Ford non-H.O. passenger car? Non-H.O. motors have those pistons with a slight dish. Also, those pistons weren't made with high power of any kind in mind so they do not take too well to abuse. What you call "eyebrows" in the pistons are know as valve reliefs.

The 1986 H.O. Mustang pistons are flat with no dish.

Mine needed monster reliefs cut in for the .499/,499 236/248 @ .050 cam, mine is an 86 shortblock I believe.

Honestly, you'd be lucky to throw 1.6 roller rockers on there without having clearance problems.

The motor is from a crown vic the date code on the block is e7 maybe I should plan on something else because I plan on punishing this thing for sure.

I have an '87 Non HO motor. This is what the pistons look like:

I believe this is what you're referring to Barry Bledsoe. And seeing that the motor came from a Non HO Car, a Crown Vic - I'm assuming this is the same motor you have right now.

Are you going to stick with the stock heads or are you planning on changing them at the same time?

I was gonna use the stock heads and yes that is what it looks like it has the heart shape combustion chambers I think 58 cc. I have another roller motor maybe I need to take the heads off and see what pistons it has but if I have to rebuild one I am gonna get a 351 the one I have that I was asking about does not need rebuild. just re gasket.
