Cobra or GT?

96 wasn't the best year for the GT.

GT = 3.73 gears
Cobra = 4.10 gears
Cobra that will not see too much highway = 4.30 gears
Cobra that will not be a daily driver and see little highway = 4.56 gears

If GT, manual trans?
Yes = short throw shifter
No = save for a T-56 (just kidding)

Is it lowered?
No = LOWER IT!!!!

Cold air induction - I liked UPR's power pipe

Now get some drag radials and take her to the track and get-- intimate...

Think about getting a cat back exhaust. You'll love the sound and you'll think you're going much faster
Good point on the vert needing steeper gears.

Exhaust makes a big difference in how fast the car seems. Easy mod too. You could do that one by yourself, along with the shifter, and CAI.

96 GT vert? Hmmmm....

To start: 4.10 gears, boxed aluminum upper and lower rear control arms, springs, subframe connectors (weld on).
Next level: shifter, clutch quadrant.
Tuffcore level: PI heads, different intake manifold, longtube headers, full 2.5" exhaust w/x pipe

Bolting on little things like a CAI isn't going to make a noticable difference. Take care of the suspension and brakes first so you can harness the power. Also, when you do suspension first, you can learn how to get the most out of your ride while you progressivly modify it.

I don't think anyone would argue with that but our man here is new to da' club.

He's probably looking for some minor things until he gets accustom to the car.
