Default pro5.0 shifter problems

I got a question...

does a shifter popping out of a gear mean the stops arent adjusted far enough back?

The shifter could be loose, the stops could be adjusted too short, or your shiftforks are bent.

Wrong, the synchros are bad, this is very common in Mustangs, you need a basic rebuild. Do it soon, the more you drive it like that the more damge you will do to the transmission and it will be more expensive to fix if they have to replace any gears.

transmission is freshly rebuilt.

I think the stops are set to short, though I'm kinda dissapointed in the shifter... I drove my buddys pro5.0 and it felt alot smoother and more precise?

Idk if these things break in or not but maybe that could be it?

Just back the stops all the way off and see if it still does it. Dont rule out the possibility that the rebuilt tranny still needs some love. Where did you get it from? Theres no way to "test" a tranny when its rebuilt until you put it in your car.
