Also had a super loose converter, first things first. A 3.55 should make more than 116 mph, no matter what it's behind.

Very tru I had a c4 with 4-11 n/a 1200 stall only do 122mph sooo I dunno man

I'm really confused over all this.

If you use a gear calculator you should be able to spin that motor to 6k rpms and hit 130 with a 1:1 ratio 3rd gear, 26 inch tire, and 3.55 gears.

Converter slippage. His converter was loose, only turned 96 mph on the rollers, he had it tightened up, went 116. Evidently it's still not tight enough, but you are correct, he should have no problem making the 1/4, that's why the thread has such a happy title

hmmm still sounds like he will run out of gear if he wants to go over 125 lol But what do I kno ?? lol I know with a 5spd and 355's over 140 isnt an issue lol

I would suggest getting either a data logging tach like the Auto Meter #6881 or maybe a Racepak V50 #K010. The tach is about $50 cheaper than the V50. That way you can record your runs and see EXACTLY what the converter slippage is. That's pretty much the only way you are going to be able to get optimum converter efficiency.

Just my opinion.
