Ask anyone who is telling you to not bother with a 2.3 if they have any experience with a 2.3 turbo. Like Fordified said, a turbo swap isn't for everyone. In fact, working on 2.3 turbo's isn't for everyone. It's a lot harder to make it really fast, but it's definately not hard to make it faster than a stock 5.0. And whoever said it was expensive just has no damn clue what they're talking about.

Another thing... You see all those posts from naysayers? If you mod that car with a turbo motor, that's the kind of support you're going to get at almost all Mustang boards, because not many Mustang guys know how to make a 2.3t run.

Oh yeah, and there's not really an aftermarket.

If you're going to do a swap, use a newer 5.0, 87-92 have forged pistons, roller cams, and better heads than the older motors. Is the car a 5 speed? What kind of shape is it in? If you want to swap it, I'll give you some pointers via PM (I've learned to keep my opinions to myself in these tech forums ) If you know you are going to get rid of it, I may be interested, and a good friend of mine may also be interested so let me know.
