Vortech seems to have good support if you have problems with them. Procharger definately makes a more reliable race blower, but Jeff is only looking to make 500-600 hp. He shouldn't have any problems with doing that pretty reliably. I went with a turbo because my car will eventually be a race car/street car with alot more than 600 hp, once I get my Cobra daily driver. I like the convenience of being able to adjust the boost with a turn of a knob to change between race fuel and pump gas.

You went 12.30, I went 12.50. Then you ran a little faster after you did the ported heads/intake/cam when you pulled the wheel. I think if you added 6 lbs of boost to the 12.30 it would have ran mid 11's just like his did. Where are you getting 20 hp? Thats at least 75 hp to go from low 12's to mid 11's.

Procharger has had many issues with seals, especially on the P1SC and D1SC blowers. Do a quick search on corral.

I have owned 3 vortechs (B,S and T trims), 2 paxtons, and a procharger. All of them performed for what they were supposed to do except the seal issue on the procharger.

I put about 70k miles on an S-trim without a peep and ran 17-18 psi with cogs on my T without a problem.

There is a reason you do not see Vortechs on many race cars, they simply don't have a blower out to compete with the prochargers. I keep reading it is gonna be released but so far...nada.

I guess the main thing is some people can break a steel bar, I can guarantee the guy with the vortech was not running it within reccomended impeller speeds.

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.

Ok, 20hp might have been light - but I was taking into consideration that he probably had a 150 shot and I would imagine a fw bolt-ons, at least. Just seems that combined, it should have gone faster. But, we are talking 93, and its likely he had a...a-trim?
