Default Cam + head combo ??

OK i have a 88 gt and got the gt-40p heads. Has a trick flow stage 1 cam with 1.7 rockers. is this 2 much lift for these heads. should i go to 1.6 rockers? Also is a 255lph pump to much for my setup? Asking due 2 went out 2 sunshine a ran a 9.1 last night. sux ass, due to the fact i ran that prior 2 the rebuild heads, cam, maf coversion,24# inj and all the other bolt ons. so i am kinda pisses at the moment and just was wondering if the cam has 2 much lift with the rockers? sry if this sounds dumb. No, I don't think the cam would be too much. When you had the heads re-built, what springs did you use? You would want to make sure that the rockers and cam don't give you to much lift for the springs. Other than that, P-heads are great heads. They flow really well and I don't see any problems with those and your combo. What intake are you running? Stock?

I ran the 255lph pump with similar mods and the pump was fine. The only thing I would suggest is an Adjustable Fuel Pressure regulator, so you adjust the pressure. If it is a little fat, you can tune it back down.

Last thing I would say is this... Take it to a dyno and get it tuned!! If the car is rich, you will lose HP. There are several good dynos in the area and it will depend on where you would want to go. I will throw a plug for Coastal Dyno in here, just because I have had good experience with them!

Coastal is definately a great place. It's a long drive from us over here in Seminole, but not many other shops in the area can compete with their dyno tuning.
