Exhaust system?
I am trying to get a louder and meaner sound out of my exhaust. They are stock right now and I am not sure if I should go with the X or H pipe or just get regular ones and then what brand, does it matter? Of course, $ is an issue, best system for best buc. Thanks guys
If you are looking for louder then you will definately want an o/r mid pipe (no-cats) . The X and H pipes make similiar HP #'s with the X-pipe making a slightly higher pitched sound . The UPR x-pipe is a nice piece and one of the cheapest I've seen . BBK also makes a nice one .
If your concerned about money and just looking for sound then you can get by with your stock headers . The after market mid pipe will bolt right up . A nice cat back would really help out . Magnaflow , Flowmaster , and SLP make nice "loud" cat backs . Or to save money you can just weld in some 2 chamber flows or some magnapacks to your existing factory cat back .
I will be changing my exhaust set-up shortly . I will be going with the Mac Pro-chamber mid pipe with a Flowmaster American Thunder cat back...I've heard it on another cobra and it sounds awesome .
Let me know if you have any other ?'s

Because I don't know a whole lot about exhaust systems, I am trying to stay with a package setup I can buy. I definately want a better sound and more hp would be great. The Mac Pro system you are getting, is that something that comes all together or are you piecing seperate items together to make a "custom" system?
i just added on the flowmaster mufflers and it makes a big differance over stock.. its not like super loud but i think its pretty nice... loud enough to be heard
They are pieces I am putting together . 2 different brands . The Mid-pipe is MAC and the Cat-back is Flowmaster .
You can mix and match brands as long as they are for your model vehicle they will match up .
You can stay with the same brand if you like - for example you can get a Mac Pro-chamber and a MAc Cat-back .
Alot of the companies that make mid pipes do not make cat backs and vice versa . So you end up mixing brands most of the time . There are exceptions like Mac and Bassani (which is very expensive) .

Is this what I am looking for? I have just been searching so I can see pictures. Will steeda do what I am looking for? Is 399 expensive? I would still have to buy the exhaust pipes right?

Yes , the Steeda x-pipe is a nice piece . And yes 399 is reasonable . You will still need a cat-back or weld in some mufflers to your stock cat-back .
One other thing.....I see you have a 2004 . If you want to keep your warranty you will need to go with a "catted " x-pipe or h-pipe so you dont void your warranty . If you dont care about your warranty then you can get an o/r mid pipe .
