So do I put in a automatic ?

So I am debating putting in a automatic trans, as if my other thread did not give that away.
Should I do it ? It will undoubtably speed up any turbo car because you can leave the line on boost and you have no off boost time between gears.
With the R block getting started in a few weeks it has really made me think about how long my new G-Force will hold. So far it has been flawless and I have yet to scrub a single gear but since I am shooting for 700+ at the wheels with the next motor the G Force will be on the ragged edge. Plus I could get a lot of $$ for it if I do not blow it up.
Don't get me wrong, I am glad I got the G Force because I wanted my car in the 10's with a manual but a auto is very tempting. If I do decide to go with the auto I am trying one more time with the G Force to see if I can better my current best of 10.95.
So your thoughts ?
And no input from you Chris (CopMagnet).

if your next combo will be pretty much all out race car (save a few trips around town), then I'd go automatic..
as stated before C-4 or Glide.. with that type of power I'd be leaning towards a glide.

you can still drive it around town.. I just wouldn't use it as a daily driver.. With 700+ rwhp, you're going to be pushing a c-4. not to mention the 2-3 flare problems that they are known for.. good luck.

I've thought about the new coupe, and if I ever go with an auto, I'd go with a TH400. One call to JW gets you an Ultra Bell that is SFI approved and allows you to bolt the tranny right to your block, as well as an Ultra Wheel that is also SFI approved and has provisions for ford and GM converters. The C4's are just too damned expensive to live behind any type of HP, and they all have the 2-3 flare, which is not curable, and will eventually burn up high gear in ANY application.
So if you want a 3 speed, I'd consider a TH400.
As far as the glide, I'm not so sure you're making enough HP to NOT need a 1st gear, plus your car is still pretty heavy. Remember the Street Outlaw guys used to run C4's at 1000 HP. If the launch is too violent for your chassis, leave at a lower RPM or limit boost at launch, don't lose 1st gear altogther.

i have a c-4 in mine that is almost as fast as your car with about 200 less horsepower. you loose too much time shifting a 5 speed, if you want ill take your for a ride and let you check it out, just gotta top off the bottle...
for the track with that much power your better off auto. i prefer a manual cause my car is a driver and stick is way more fun. but like i said that much power and the auto is the answer.take a ride in rubberneck's car it onlk got like 250hp or so and it'll snap your neck.

^^^^ yeah on motor and dont forget almost 350 ft/lbs or torque, but im talking power adder (175 shot) included probably closer to 400 hp(not dyno verified yet), but thats besides the point.
the automatic just shifts faster than you can work your foot and hand together, with my prostick i move my hand twice for less than an inch to shift gears.
