Default ive got a problem here

ok, for a while now ive noticed the car getting low (about 1/2qt) on oil about once a month....and for a while i was fearing it may have been piston rings, but i think i realized what it is/was whatever....

my PCV valve thingy on the driver's side head has oil caked on all around it (just noticed it now since i havent been under the hood lately till yesterday) so i assume that means the valve seals are going/gone? right? or am i missing the boat all together?

is there anything i can do for now (until i can get the heads off or do a head swap) to stop the leak? heavier oil? synthetic oil? something?

Usually synthetics will leak more readily than will dino oil. Tends to clean out the gunk that seals some smaller leaks and lets them flow again.

I'd replace the PCV valve and also make sure the valve covers are tight, especially in the back where it's hard to see the leaks.

Your on my road....

I burn 1 quart of Mobil 1 10-W30 a month. Gets pricey believe me lol. I dont even need to do an oil change. I burn so much I could just keep adding on,but I change it out anyway...

Eighther the rings or the seats

i doubt its the VCs, theres no oil around the edges, just where the PCV is on the VC
