Remember that 7.5 and the noises it was making in the 3.8L 88 hatch hybrid I built? It is a miracle that thing hasn't exploded yet. I am positive that if that car were not an automatic, the rearend would have long since turned to powder.

*cough* sell him the damn IRS, Jake *cough* That is a weekend project I would LOVE to do.

cough**find me a solid axle***cough cough...think we could do the swap in the driveway Solo? if I do the swap ill lose the borla stonger..boo

Does the gearing matter? I'm assuming you just want a decent 8.8 with 5-lug axles. I imagine those will be easy to find. As much as people hate the place, try giving Blue Oval a call.

Alan,

If you're really serious about autox, you're better off with a solid axle than with IRS. It takes a LOT of work to make it work nearly as well as a torque arm/panhard bar setup.

I really need something in perfect condition to let mine go, I dont feel like haviung a 30k car and a 200.00 rear end lol

What is your budget? I've seen some Cobra 8.8's complete with brakes for around $800-900 plus freight. Sounds steep though.
