Default Which flywheel do you use?

I've decided to go with the Spec stage 2 clutch. what flywheel do you guys with spec clutches use. stock, billet steel, or aluminum. i know the aluminum weighs less, allowing the engine to rev quicker. The cost on specs site is $369 for the aluminum. that puts the clutch and flywheel at $688:o http://specclutch.com/specMain.html

I run an aluminum but with a blower it works better. If n/a a billet steel would be in there.

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.

Steve is correct. You need that rotating mass (steel) as opposed to steve does not, because he has that big leaf blower. If ya got the money Billet steel no questions asked. There is nothing wrong with a stock replacement flywheel. It is what I will be using.

EDIT: I forgot you have a supercharger. I'd go with the billet steel. You aren't pushing serious numbers and it is a daily driver I take?

I beg to differ. I went with a alum flywheel for a few reasons.

Less stress on the tranny. When you hit the tires hard(using slicks) There isn't as much enertia(sp?) to break parts. A few guys on corral have n/a cobras running alum flywheels and they didn't seem to lose any et in the 60ft. Just have to raise rpms alittle.

Once the car is moving yes the rpms will rev quicker.

Weight reduction.

Since you have a blower you don't have to worry about torque. IMO I say get the aluminum. -Mark

I have a SPEC lightweight clutch in my car w/ an alum. flywheel. The pressure plate also has been lightened. I love it and have not a complaint. It seems though everyone here is refering to a drag setup, mine is setup for roadracing, where the lightweight flywheel is a must have.
