What is better? The flow, power, combustion chamber design......

But hey, who's counting right? I guess it all depends on if you really want to make power or not. Heads are where power is made, money spent there is well spent.

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.

Hmmmmm....drop $350 into a set of heads that really aren't that great. Or...spend an extra $90 on a set of used/worked GT40 heads that have been proven performers for years. I don't see why you would waste money on those heads you already have. Each to his own I guess.

Dude, save your money for a good set of aluminum heads. Search Corral and other national boards. If you look hard enough you can find some good deals out there.

ANyone have info on the 1968 dooe 302 heads? I think they are 58cc
$350 - $80 for dremel = port/clean work plus $230 left.
$230 - $150 for valve job = $80 left
$80 - $20 for .020 mill = $60

there you go

Who was talking about the E7 heads? They are on almost the same level as your heads. Both ported and milled and you won't see a difference power wise.

Hey like I said, depends on how much power you really want to make.

I have a set of gasket matched ported on the exhaust side of a pair of e7s in my garage I did myself. I bought 1 carbide tungsten ($25) bit for the rough porting and a set of 5 stone bits for smoothing and I'm using a standard drill. Took me about 4 hours total per head to get desired results.

I found a place to clean them and give them a 3 angle valve job for $100, then a descent gasket set is going to be close to $100.

So my whole porting project will have costed me $225,

If anyone is wondering why on earth I would even bother porting e7s ... there are e6 heads on my car now and I got these 2 e7 heads for $20.

Burg, the most wildly ported stock casted heads are only going to perform as well as standard unported trick flows or edelbrocks. I say you wait a little while and save enough money to get something really worth putting on that cougar
