I called Ford and they dont even make the part/brackets anymore. I dont want to chisle them off because the brackets and/or the body might get bent to hell.

i'm not pullin' that out of my ass............ buy the GT tailhousing from a junkyard or somewhere............ bolt it up and go on with life..........

yeah, i just had to use the gt tailshaft..........


it is a lil shaky in 3rd and makes a lil noise........ but its holding up strong...........

all you need is an automatic transmission crossmember.

the automatic tranny crossmember bolts in so you dont need to do any welding or bs like that. If you cut the manual tranny crossmember brackets off your body, Ford does not sell a replacement nor can you simply "take it off" another car. Try the automatic tranny crossmember, it will simply bolt into your existing holes in the frame and it sits several inches farther back than the manual crossmember.

Are you refuring to the black crossmember that bolts to the tailend of the tranny and then to the body? Or the mounting brakcet on the tailend of the tranny itself? Both of brackets that bolt to the tranny and body are the same (bitemark46 can tell you this aswell). As for the bracket on the tranny itself in not sure if there the same or not.
I just know the new tranny is longer then the one I took out.
