Default Mmmmm...oil

So today I FINALLY get around to installing my new stainless/teflon oil feed line to the blurbo. I figure most of the oil coating the underside of my motor is due to the fact the factory hard line was literally leaking at every possible fitting. So I change that out, fill it back up with oil, and my car starts slowly soiling itself. Nothing major, but worth taking notice within the next few months.

The starter is absolutely covered in oil. So I'm thinking maybe the main seal is dead? The motor only has 105k on it, but granted the car is 18 years old. Up top the car is dry, not a single damn leak. Underneath it looks like the damn Exxon Valdez disaster.

Have to say, the more we work in this car, the more I start to loathe my decision to purchase it. But hey, at least Craig did a super job painting my new A-pillar with gauge pod.

Hey men, after a quick look under the hood Fridat night - it looked clean! A little effort now will go a long way towards having fun with it in the long run.

If it helps these cars tend to leak from the oil return when it isn't kept tight.

Mine gets some leakage from the exhaust manifold bolts. I broke some of the factory ones and the replacement ones aren't long enough. I have seen the stock ones seep as well.

BTW if you have a clean svo and are local we should meet up out at gandy one of these saturday's

Thanks for the tip. I'll check the oil return line next time I poke my head under the car. Not sure why I didn't think to look at it yesterday.

You should join us at one of our semi-regular Hooters/bar outings. I think I can speak for many of us here when I say we gave up on the Gandy thing long ago. Too many stupid risks involved even when you aren't looking for a race. I know Dave was talking about maybe trying to gather all the various local 2.3T and turbo ford owners for some sort of gathering.

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.
