*News Flash! Ford has discontinued building these engines for production forever! some stock will be kept around the country for warranty purposes so when they're gone, they are really gone! The new 2005/2006 platform Mustang/Cobra will not use this engine.
You are correct, at least from what I have read at work. On a side note I just ordered our first 5 2005 Mustangs last week. I wonder what the new motor will be since they are goign to have a 24v 4.6 in the gt. Anyone got some rumors?

I'm guessing 5.0L 32valve with some sort of variable length runner. They didn't dump all that money into the cammer for nothing.

I don't know what kind of motor they are using in the '06 cobras, but I heard they are gonna put a whipple twin screw blower on it.

That doesn't mean that they can't make some derivative of it using what they learned from the heads/intake. The EPA stuff is mainly a matter of $$$ for testing and certification. They can tune anything F/I to pass it, but why bother certifying a 'catalog only' motor. As far as OEM durability, that just takes r&d work. Something they've done a lot of with the cammer.

That's my best guess and I'm sticking with it.
