Default X-pipe help....

Hey all i got a BBK off road X-pipe that I had on my 01 GT a while ago but took it off b/c i was making this rattling sound around 3 grand when the rmp's would drop and I have an idea what it is but I am not totally sure about it. I think it has something to do with the back pressure and when the gas hits the X on the pipe. But again I am not totally sure. Now I talked to one of the few that work on my car with me and he said to weld in 2 cats on it and it will take it out. Will that help it? I want to put it back on b/c the HP gains were crazy and it sounded sweet b/c I also have V-force muffs on there. So if anyone can help me out then let me know. Thanks

Rattling? Nothing to do with the xpipe itself. Could only possibly be the connection between your header and xpipe or your xpipe and catback. The exhaust itself shouldn't rattle unless something is loose.

no i have the same extact exhaust that you do and mine does it too what it is is the way the exhaust flow through the x-pipe if you dont like that then i would got with an h-pipe but dont put cats on your car i like the way it sounds when you hit like 4500 it sounds real rich though if you dont have duel chamber mufflers i would get them cause it eliminates that sound to and its just straight up loud. preffly FLOWMASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have been having alot of problems with BBK X-Pipes at the shop. I believe there could possibly be an issue with quality control. I would get rid of that BBK and give old Dr. Gas a call and your problem will be cured.
