Drag radials make a HUGE difference on a 17" rim, probably more so than on a smaller rim. I would go with a Nitto drag radial myself, you'll hook as good on the street as a BFG and have way better cornering, treadlife and way better in the rain. As far as the tires you mentioned, Toyo Proxes were on the my Cobra when I bought it and I think they are pretty good tires, when I switched to the 18's they had Nitto 555's and didnt like those as much. Blew out one in the rear and put on used F'1's and they hooked alot better and are alot better in the rain. I would pick the F1 over the Toyo and the Nitto, I've never seen a 'supercar' come with either. But like I said, I would pick the Nitto Drag radial myself.

I have the eagle f-1's on my ranger in that same size and i'll be honest... i'm not that happy with them. they hook alright but still not that great. they absolutly suck in the rain, can't get into the boost at all or else i'm all over the road. my next tires are deffinatly going to be the Nitto 555 Extreme Drag, i've had a little experience with those and they are a VERY good tire for the money and they last quite a while. so if i were you i would just get the Nitto's right from the get go and call it a day. trust me you won't be dissappointed.

I don't know who said that Nitto DR's don't make a differance on a 17inch rim cause they sure did on my 00GT.Countless 5700rpm launches and low 1.7 60's.I think they are the best all around street tire out.
