302/331/347. People have done V8 swaps on Rangers before. There are probably other motors that would fit aswell, I just dont know of them.

Easily a 2.3T motor (duh) or a 302. I'd lean towards the 2.3l turbo motor only for ease of install compared to a V8.

But you know what they say, you can do whatever you want to your car with the only limit being your wallet. I imagine you could put a 502 Merlin in a Ranger. Expensive? Yes. Practical? Maybe not. Traction? Definately not.

2.3T's are fairly easy to come by, in fact, i know of about six complete motors for sale locally.

from what i hear, in regards to the a/c, if you use the heater core and all the a/c stuff from the thunderbird, you can cut a certain part off and flip it and still be able to run a/c. I just didn't feel like going throught all the trouble, and the extra weight.

i think its a fairly simple process but i'm not too sure, i wasn't going to use a/c so i didn't really do a whole lot of research on it but if you want to know more check out rangerpowersports.com and go to the 2.3T board there's quite a bit of info one the swap.rangerpowersports.com
