i thank you all for your offers and input...the lifters i keep breaking are crane...and am i making it clear when i say what i believe is causing this problem...its the double ended crescent wrench looking thing that locates the lifter to keep the roller on the lifter going strait across the cam lobe....and not sideways across the camlobe....this time they both broke in the same exact location....on two different cylinders...7 and 8...has anyone broken this part?

Does the spring loaded spider looking clamp that hold the double ended keepers in place still have enough spring in it to hold them down? I am familiar with this problem, I saw it happen with 2 x cams and a lunati grind that had simmilar specs as the x cam... we replaced the spider clamp and used the x cams as door stops... Good luck...
