I actually fabricated a 72 mm MAF becasue at the time (1991-1993) there was hardly anyone making them and the ones that did wanted a arm and a leg.
Jason (96modGT) borrowed it from me long ago and had never returned it.
It was made from a piece of steel pipe with the appropriate size small scavenger tube inside for the MAF sensor wires to sit in. Then I made a homemade flange for the sensor to sit on. And it worked well, no check engine light and it picked up a few tenths in the 1/4 mile.
This was before Ford put a square flange on the end of the MAF so I just put a huge conical K&N air filter on it. Lots of people asked about it at the track and wanted me to make more of them but I didn't.
Doubt I have any pics. and if I do they are stored away, that was before digital camera you know.

See the carb guy isn't so stupid afterall.

Trust me 1.35 60' times bring a smile to your face.
It's all in what you want, but I prefer the track for my speed exploits. plus there are no excuses if the car doesn't keep up with your mouth...

Once people find out you dead hook, no one wants to run you from a stop. If they know that you spin, they ONLY wanna run you from a stop, I'm not complaining tho, I do the same thing. That's why my car is pretty decent at both, enough suspension to do better than a 2.0', and more mph than my e.t. would suggest.
my car sucks from a roll, but I can't get anyone to run me from a stop?

sunshine I ran a 1.905 60ft'r with about 200rwhp on a 3,000 semi dump of the clutch. I'm probably going to go out to bradenton sunday and give it a ncie 4-5k total dump and see if I can move a little better, because I'm sure it can.
It has subframe connecters, no sway bar and 4 cyl springs in the front. How many people can hit 13s 1/4 and 8s 1/8 with 200rwhp. Suspension is quite important.

just for shits and giggles, I ran 11.81@114.06 1.54 60' with my 88 GT back in 1993 with bolt ons, stock block, drag suspension, emissions legal cam (crane 20/40), when it was a 12.20 car in 1991-92 I ran a 11.19@123 on a 100 shot of nitrous, may seem slow for todays standard but back then it was quick. put street tires on it (gatorbacks) and try to race on the street was a joke, could be had by 13 sec. cars. Hard to believe it has been 10 years already... This Damn old man has a Cobra now...
