go to a junkyard and try to get a box of 2" piping - $40 (this is your intake piping)
TiAl wastegate w/ adjustable springs - $300
1G DSM BOV w/ flange - $30
Electric 12v oil sending unit w/ resevoir - $350
450cc/42# injectors - $150
fuel pump - 115
tune - 250
misc - 50 (washers, silicone fittings/connectors, etc)
basically, remove your muffler, and at that point, weld on a corresponding flange to the turbo you use, and weld in the wastegate close, now route that box of piping back to the intake, use maybe a 8psi wastegate spring as you will probably have about a 2-3 psi pressure drop from amount of piping. Tap your oil pan for the oil return and carry out. pop in your injectors and fuel pump...and be on your merry way for probably a little less than 1700 if you can get things used and cheap.

Anywho, if it were me, I would rather have a quicker car than a bracket race contender.

If your escort when turbo'd can run sub 9 second passes at sunshine with less than a few hundred $ in work, then I'll agree that it will be cheaper, but my insurance is 1700 a year (19 y/o, 5.0, 1 wreck 1 ticket). Probably 25mpg on the highway with 3.73s, with the 2.73s I had before it was a highway machine though
Probably lookin at 30 with the 2.73s I had.Hardly anyone has a Built mustang that is daily driven. (I'd consider very low 12s and less built.)

Dude, the rear mount turbo BS isn't the answer to every car. he's got plenty of room in the engine compartment to mount a turbo, coincidentally where a turbo SHOULD be mounted. There are also (as he mentioned) factory manifolds available for him to turbocharge his car.

Easiest definition: nothing stock on the car anymore. That is built.

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.

maybe you should save your money and get a bracket race car... instead of beating on a poor old escort...
