Burnout on Nittos?
Went to the track last night, and couldnt get a proper burnout. the tires would barely spin. I think i was just spinning the transmission.
I didnt go in the water box, and I tried a dry burnout in front of the water box. I couldnt even get a match stick amount of smoke off the tires!
This morning I talked to someone that told me to do this with Nittos:
Is that the way to get smoke off these things?
P.S. Trans is going back to Grady Monday morning...

Back into the water box, Do a quick spin, roll out of the water box. Then do your burn out.

Ditto. Fresh Nittos are extremely sticky. Unless you have globs of torque, you need to get them wet first, roll out of the water box with your back tires on the concrete and then power brake it for ~10 seconds. With new Nittos you want to do big burnouts.

This is a good pic of a great burnout on nittos. Don't know whos car it is, but damn it was a good looking burn out anyway.! I use to back up to the water box. Then put her in 1st and rotate the tires once. Then I would roll several feet out of the box, put her in 2nd and then drop the clutch and let the tires spin for just a couple of seconds. 1.7 60ft on stock suspension using 17" nittos. :o

Thats a burnout?
actually, in all honesty...look at the tire marks that start about 3 feet outside of the box. I am nearly at the end of my big ass burn out ( LOL ) in this pic.
