Ford Will Build The Shelby Mustang Yet Again !
It sounds as if Ford is really trying to get the whole Mustang switchover right from the get go. Lets hope anyway.
Gee what motor could be in the Shelby ? Maybe the Cammer ? :o
Sources at ASC (American Sun Roof) say that they were developing a Mustang concept for Ford that would use the Shelby Mustang nameplate. The last Shelby Mustang was sold in the United States as a 1970 model.
Shelby inked a deal with Ford earlier this year, so the tip from a reliable source at ASC makes sense. It is unclear if Ford will continue to use the SVT name on the Cobra models or switch back to the Shelby Mustang Cobra moniker. While we could not confirm the vehicles existence with members on Team Mustang, one member did add that a nameplate switch would be perfect timing with the coming of the new model. Adding the Shelby name back to the Mustang would create a huge amount of publicity for Ford, and may attract more traffic to Ford dealership showrooms.
