I can not believe this shit ! :o
Makes me think they are developing a RWD Focus for production in a few years.
News From SEMA 2003
Ford highlighted the engine in a Ford Focus that had been converted to rear-wheel drive. Davis said that next year Ford plans to sell a rear-drive conversion kit for the Focus, with an expected cost of about $5,000.
What do you guys think ?

Damn! That's pretty cool! Specially since it's the focus. I guess their popularity and demand made/will make this possible.
My only wish is that they had that for my car.

The new 2.3 is pretty powerful, a turbo would only compliment it even more!

So I'm guessing they are taking Kugell's kit and selling it in the Ford Racing catalog as a "Ford" kit. Pretty lame if you ask me...the "Ford Racing" under drive pulley and adjustable cam gears are just rebadged Esslinger parts.
Pretty cool that Ford is going to sell this, but just once I would like to see them actually design something themselves.
BTW...the infamous "Turbo Tom" is starting the first 2.3l turbo kit shortly. He has all the tuning worked out, now all he needs is a donor car.

Many automakers let other companies design stuff and then rebadge them. Nothing new there. Plus Ford would never take the time or spend the money on R&D to come up with a lot of this stuff.
Look at the blowers on the Cobras they are Eatons. Ford knows nothing about blowers so why not use someone that does ?

But I'm not gonna argue about it.
