What yeard/model/engine is it? If I get a chnce I'll pull up the computer schematics and see if I can give you guys any suggestions on where to look. Sounds like you got a ground wire getting voltage to me.

Sorry EsCoRtLvR. Didn't mean to jump on you like that. You know how Mondays can go.

NP T/S I totally understand I was waiting until after my lunch before I could get my Escort up on the racks to change out the tranny so now I have to span it across 3 days instead of 2 *sighs*

Any updates on the EFI issues?

I've seriously considered going this route. I just wish it were in the budget.

As far as the bad gas mileage, the car is probably in "limp home" mode meaning it's running full rich because it can't see what the throttle position is at. If you need to I can print out a computer wiring diagram from ALLMOST Data
I'm pretty sure it's running PIG RICH, cuz I don't get much power until 3500 and it pulls hard after that.

Yeah Cody, I guess we could try that ECU and see what happens.

And thanks for the thread Jerm......I'm not really that concerned about it until the car breaks down.

Default More Problems

(This is NOT the first time this has happened) Well while driving to work today on I-4 I was cruising about 75-80mph and all of a sudden the car just dies and come right back. The rpm guage goes to ZERO and comes right back. It did this about 4-5 times before it stopped. This has happened on about 3-4 occasions since the iginition wire problem was fixed.
