Am I the only one who thinks that is a waste of both the engine and car? First of all a 5.0 would not be hard to find, much easier to install in the fox body and most likely be much cheap. Second I thought the Syclones and Typhoons where allwheel drive but the Mustang appears to be only rear wheel drive? You can find S-10s for dirt cheap why not just throw the motor in a S-10 I dont think the Mustang would be lighter than a S-10? but I guess if I had that motor and that car(w/o a motor) I would try to make them work together to.

That stang is a lot lighter than a S-10 and I think it's mainly just because he felt like it and to cause a stir

Update....

Quote from thread below....
"The tystang ran a best of 7.61 @ 98mph tonight with a shitty 1.899 60'. I left off idle off the line and had to peddle most of the way down the 1/8th b/c of was spinning the mcreary's hard enough to where it would over-rev and backfire. So most of the 1/8 was 1/2 to 3/4 throttle at around 3500-5000 rpms. After letting out at the 1/8 it would coast to a 12.6 @ 82mph. I know there's a ton left in her. This was at 19psi pump gas and 2560lbs without me in it. And I still have alot of weight to remove. I figured with this 60' in the quarter it would go 11.80's at 124mph. Still peddling and not wot. Man if i can just bury the throttle or even get a couple psi off the line it would rip. Most of the time i'm just waiting for it to spool up through the first 60'"

Great... take the most interesting thing about a sy-ty (AWD) and throw it out the window....morons....

Now, make an AWD stang that doesnt weigh 3800-4000lbs and I would be interested.

I think the whole point was power:weight ratio for a drag setup with the 4.3. If he wanted something 4k lbs instead of 2,500 he would have just left it in a truck

I think you missed a 'doesn't' in there...

Either way, Mustangs are pretty much throwaways, and I'll bet anyone that they will be restamped someday, just like '69 Camaros are.

As for the SyTy parts, not all are specific to the vehicle. If you were inclined to build a clone, you could do most of it by using parts sourced from non-SyTys, I think. Just like a Mustang SVO, or a Cobra.
