yea...a dissappointment...but never the less..this provides a few of us time to put everything in order...i know billy is probably happy about it raining out...as am i, as i ran into some car trouble leaving BMP (pulley rubbed through a radiator hose... but dont exactly know how long i was driving with my water temp 240+ )

I was at the Hess station for about 20 minutes and then we decided to go home. However, since I live in Lakeland, I take the backroads which means going east of the track. I passed everyone when they were leaving it. they probably thought i was nuts but i was really just going the right way to get home

I also washed my car at 4pm and about 10 minutes later, clouds started forming over lakeland

 

Yeah, I paided like right before it started to rain! lol so I still have my arm tag #21 so that will let me in right? thanks.

 

wahooo i was number 1 on the wrist band hehe, stupid rain...

 

That storm was insane, we stopped in at the hess to get gas on the way back and a lightning bolt like 200 feet away killed the pumps. As I was driving down the interstate on the way down I saw a few patchy clouds, which had me a little nervous, but when I turned off of the interstate and started heading toward the track I knew we were doomed.

Pulled into the track, paid, ten minutes later the rain hits. My dad was along, and even he was disappointed. We were hoping to see what some of these cars we've heard so much about could do.

Oh well, I'll be at the rain date event. Car might actually be running well enough by then to race instead of spectating. Got to see some nice cars (almost underwater) and I was almost hit by a piece of flying trash (I think it was Donnie who threw it, I was running by in the rain at the time). Got to practice my hydroplaning skills on the way back up.

 

I'll second that because the same damned thing happened to me tonight. I was just about to start drying off the Mustang when I looked up and saw the clouds coming in from the east. There was just enough time to move my car into the garage to dry it off before it starting pouring, and since I live near the track I knew the event was going to get rained out.

Hopefully I can make it to the decided rain date.

 

i don't wanna get everyone mad, but i'm kinda happy now, maybe i can actually fix my car and have it ready for the rain date

 

I thought he was crazy for even pulling in as he passed us. I was worried about stalling out, that water was deep!
