While what Jim has posted is pretty much the way it is, it's more like 2 years for my car. I still like Bri and don't wish him any bad at all, but the time has come for me. Finished or not I need to get my car before I go into the hospital on the first of May. Not to be melodramatic, but I may not come out of the hospital in anything other than a box. if that happens, I don't want to leave loose ends dangling for my wife to try to figure out. I need my car back NOW, finished or not. I've texted him for a time when I can come and pick it up along with the parts that are not on it right now. I realize that Bri has had a hard time of it recently but so have I and now I have to cover my own ass. I don't feel Bri is screwng me over intentionally but I can't ride the train anymore. Just waiting for a return text or call from him so I can get out of his hair and get my shit squared away before I go under the knife.

 

Of all people I know this, And I'm in NO way sticking up for him!


After you built your dream didn't it sit forever at an all knowing shop cause they couldn't figure the tune out? Didn't it wind up being something as stupid as the distributor? So you built your dream and then couldn't drive it cause the shop couldn't diagnose the problem? I don't remember you coming on here and explaining your story. I think I remember a post of how happy you were cause it was finally running.. So maybe you were just over joyed with the fact it was finally drivable..



And just an F.Y.I.

Two years ago this site (T.R.) and Mafia partnered with a TV show called Racers, I paid them (Racers) just over 3K in a six month time frame to be able to sponsor the show and be able to get the shop on TV. For some reason the TV show never happened and the little cork sucker ( Patrick J. Schaefer) took off with my money.

Not much I could do but wash my hands and go back to work..

 

most of the time i would stay out of your post but im curious why you and the other guy paid for work that was not done on the car yet.im not trying to be a dick or start anything i know i sure would be fucking pissed if i was in your shoes not even tho money part but the 1 year part would be enough to piss me off.im just curious why you and the other guy paid up front.i mean i could understand paying for paint or whatever but never could i pay upfront with out any work being done.i know we dont get along but sorry to hear about you and the other guy getting fucked over.do you guys even know if he still has your cars?

 

Because he came VERY highly recommended by 90% of Ford Tech and people I know over on N2S. I had seen his work in person. I talked with him in person and he comes across like a pleasant enough guy. He originally promised that my car would be finished in 2 - 3 months tops.

When someone is strongly recommended by your fellow car enthusiast peers a guy like me will trust in the group. I mean 30 people cant all be wrong can they? I just wanted my car done and was so happy to be finally building my car into something I had never done before. I struggled for over 2 yrs being out of work and not being able to afford anything. I worked my tail off and finally raised the money to get it done and everything has been on hold waiting on Bryan.

I'm the kind of guy that if I look you in the eye and shake your hand, then that is my word and my honor. I will do as I have promised because thats what I said I would do. I dont have much in life but my honor means the world to me. I always expect other people to share the same integrity that I do. I keep forgetting that it doesnt mean the same thing to all people.

I'm the "OG" . You can take you pick of "Other Guy" or "Old Guy". Personally, I prefer the latter. The reason I did it is first of all for everything Jim said about him. He has been on this board a long time, I've dealt with thim before on parts, both buying and selling, I think and he is one hell of a painter. As for the "Old Guy" in me, I come from a time when iif you said you would do something and shook hands with the other guy (Not even necessary to shake on it) then you just did it., no matter what. Your word meant something. I can't tell you how many times I'v struck a deal with someone on this board to buy something but then found out it was the wrong thing or wouldn't work or whatever...but i still went through with the deal and bought it anyway. Sadly, it seems most people these days have no idea what I'm talking about. And for the most part, it looked like Bryan was trying to get it done as fast and as good as he could. It wasn't until Labor Day that he called me and said it would be done in 2 weeks. That's the same story I've heard since then. Maybe I'm an idiot for trusting someone. I hope not.

 

It's a sick feeling to have your money nabbed. Here's how I see it (since you didn't ask) - if you're going to pull this kind of crap, then you're going to bring things on yourself, like people talking bad about you and your business, people posting your mug shots and people calling the IRS on you. It's called karma and it seems well deserved in this case.

 

No Shaun, you are pretty much spot on with my car sitting for 2 years. My dream was my nightmare.... I am pretty sure that is what bugs me the most. Tony and Jim have both bent over backward to help me in the past and they have been good guys. I hate to see them loose that passion as well.
The only difference in my story, is $hawn stuck by me. He spent many, many days and nights, doing everything he could to find the issue. (A good part of that two years was me not listening to him ) However, I always had Shawn to talk to, so I still felt I had help. Did I get frustrated... Yes. Did it kill my passion for cars, yes, for a long time. But did I know that I was lied to by that 'all knowing' shop, no. It wasn't until it was done, that I actually knew what happened... If I had went by that shop every day and seen my car sitting in the same spot... If I had known that parts had not been changed as I was told... then yes, I am pretty sure I would have posted. However, by the time it was running.... I was over joyed!!!!! Very much so...

I am sorry to hear about Patrick J. Schaefer. Is he local?

I still haven't heard back from Bryan as to when I can pick it up along with my parts that are inside. His shop is on Douglas (I think it is) just north of the Oldsmar Flea Market.

 

Mr. Dirt, what exactly needs to be done to the car to make it street legal. driveable..whatever? Just asking...
