You'll change that mind-set the first time the foam element melts to the inside of a $600+ carb. I ran one, 1 time on my 66, never again

Well shit, i never heard of that happening before. There is a cage inside of it. I dont know what else I can fit on top. Even after I put a hole in the hood, the thing is almost touching the scop. You got me a lil worried now.

I thought a Moroso drop style air cleaner sits lower then the one pictured.

You should be!! One backfire with alittle flame and it's all over. I would run with out one before i use it.

Wow, I didn't know this thread was gonna focus on air breathers this much. I glad I put my safety remark in about not using this type filter because I too have seen them fail..I do plan to run a two inch tall k&n by 14 in round with a breathe thru top lid..Normally I would run a 4 inch tall but do to space I'm going with two inch with the breathe thru k&n top.I believe this will give me enough air for the engine performance..Here's a pic of a fellow TR member's big block with motorplate,this is also the type of plate I will be using instead of traditional motor mounts(more room for headers with the plate setup)

Those last pics you posted Donnie, was that the car that Roby had? I really like that car, Kevin bought it and had it for sale, not sure if its still around or not
