What? Taking more of your freedom away? Remember reading that book before you took your drivers license test? Maybe you should read it again.

I am not sticking up for that agency for the way they are taking enforcement. I am also not much for laws that try to protect us from ourselves.

But, if you are not smart enough to wear a seat belt while driving a car then I guess you will never really get it.

Be sure you buckle up and wear a helmet, next time you get on a street bike.

I'm not a supporter of the seat belt law either. Its not about enforcing a useful law its about revenue.....when will most get that

You know what? I think the seat belt law was not always a primary offense in Florida.
Rather you could get ticketed for the seat belt after a stop.
I do think the cops should use their resources for something more productive.

Years ago the seat belt laws were used with great success curbing prostitution. Cops would wait for the John to start his talk, then whack a seat belt ticket on him. Difficult to stay focused after that.

LOL I've never had a problem wearing my seatbelt while driving or riding in a car. OR my helmet when riding my motorcycle. (which is why I've never had a seatbelt ticket, yet have been ticketed for speeding numerous times) HOWEVER......This law is simply about generating revenue. It is not about saving us from ourselves. I swear, the next law will be that we can't spit on the streets or face a $300 fine....The next one after that, no impure thoughts about Big Brother or face a fine of $1000 per incident. They are hiring for the thought police as I am typing this.

Some other ways they generate revenue bothers me. I dont have any problems being law abiding, but dont make laws and punishment especially just for sake of revenue. A BIG one that bothers me is DUI's. If you want to reduce DUI's, increase the punishment. A typical non contested DUI will cost you about 10g's and a misdemeanor. Make it felony, more will think twice about it before risking thier careers and livelyhood.
Local agencies dont wont that when they arrest 20+ more a night (during the week), DUI's are big business (revenue)
