non ethanol gas
Being on the recieving side for automotive parts requests affords me an interesting observation --- putting "corn-holi-oil" in our fuels has ruined ... boat motors, rendered many a lawnmower useless after sitting a few weeks, created numerous near kills with motorcylclists throttling with unpredictable bogging events, and simlar issues with autos and trucks. Some techs enjoy the new revenue stream (fuel system cleaning and parts replacement), yet do realize the hazards to motorists and the additional costs to operate those vehicles that were doing just fine until this crap came along.
^^^ Long sentence, I agree --- this stuff happens to me also, and I just hate getting tromped upon by the industries with their solution to reduce(?) emissions. The very same ones the sell fuel problem(s) petroleum based remedies, hah!
Hurst - cost IS higher to all, the corn-holi-oil is a big mistake.
Wish I had this non-ethanol product over here in Polk County!

Prime example. My 2005 Honda TRX250 4 wheeler. About 3 months ago took the tank, carb and fuel lines and cleaned them all thoroughly. Went to the local Shell to fill my 5 gallon can and added the proper amount of Sta-Bil to it so whatever I poured it into should be safe to sit right?
Wrong, ran the the Honda a few times then it sat for a month or so. Went to fire it up and couldn't get any fuel into the carb. The float was so seized in place that compressed air wouldn't even budge it. There was also what looked like little balls of wax in the bottom of the bowl.
Is there an additive known to combat the problems from the ethanol? Wonder if there are any stations in Lakeland selling 100% gas.
