Default VW vs. Bike

Im not sure if this is old, but I guess that shithead "OMWTFBBQ" will inform, if it is.

Apparently there were two females in the VW. Well while making a left into her street heading home, the driver was on the phone and didn't see the bike coming, and it was said he was doing about 85mph. Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, so heres four from the Motorcycle Fair that the local police and Road Safety Department put up.
Now from what I understand the VW actually flipped 20' from the place of impact because of the force. All three were killed instantly.

Its sad to see and as much as people say "cell phones should'nt be used while driving" or "I dont do that!", were all guilty of the shit. I do it and im certain most of you guys do too. Whether its texting or talking, try to limit it or pull off.

I for one, dont agree with the seatbelt laws, I think there fuckin rediculous and that should be a self choice, just like with the riders and helmets. It is, what it is I guess. Be safe guys!

About 15 yrs ago up in Md there was a guy on one of those Ninja bike that went zipping past me. 5 mins later I pulled up to an intersection where he hit the side of a Metro bus (Public transportation for Md, DC and Northern Va). He hit the bus so hard that he and the bike went inside the bus. Killing a woman and he was still alive inside the bus. The hole in the side of the bus was all I needed to see. I read about the rest in the paper the next day.

Its fucking scary shit. When I got my first bike I was 18 and it was a ZX6R. And all I wanted to do was top it out everywere I went. Then I seen a guy I rode with from Suicide Cycles do 185mph on Alligator Alley and run into the back of a Nova. Bike was sold after I only had it two weeks. I had a ZX12R a couple years after that and just decided after a few close calls it wasn't for me. Cars dont watch for bikes and most riders are fucking stupid.

Back in 87 I bought a brand new Honda 750 Night Hawk. Was basically the same thing as an Interceptor with out all the farings and BS. Same CBR 750 engine with 4 side draft carbs on the front.

I rode that thing everywhere. I was 21 at the time and had a blast with it. My ex-wife (GF at the time) told me to get rid of it,.. she said I was going to kill myself on it. One morning on my way to work I was in bumper to bumper traffic. I did as I usually did and started riding down the shoulder to pass everyone. The privs of having a bike right? Well not 15 cars down was an under cover state trooper and I didnt see him until I was already on top of him. He hit his light and me being young and dumb at the time decided I couldnt be late for work again. I was going to make him earn it. So I lit into it taking 13k through every gear. Came up to a bridge and needed to get off the shoulder,.. almost couldnt stop,.. no idea how fast I was going,.. probably 120 - 130+. Slowed down and got in between the cars splitting the lanes and picked up my speed again. My exit was coming up,.. and again I got over on the shoulder and hit my exit,.. ran the next 10 lights and made it to my job site. Put my bike inside the tool trailer to hide it. My adrenalin was pumping so hard I could barely breath. I was so scared I threw up. Then later that day I was scared to ride home at quitting time. I was paranoid all day. I never told my wife or anyone at work what happened. I put the bike up for sale that weekend and other than one of my father inlaw's Harley's I havent ridden much since.

I October I bought a 1987 Honda Z50R. I have a blast every time I ride it. It is not what you would call peppy. If you keep it in the yard you can't really get into 2nd gear. Just putt around in first. Grass is soft.

I don't know what sort of cat-like reflexes are needed to stay alive riding a street bike in Pinellas county.

Big street bikes + lots of traffic = Natural Selection

I'd ride a bike in the States WAY before I'd ride in other countries

I was on my way to work this morning and seen that traffic was unusually backed up. after a few blocks I see an ambulance, firetruck and a slew of sheriffs. As I passed I noticed a black Harley on its side and a GMC truck with the front end in peices. All I could do was bow my head and say a prayer for the guy. Hope he made it...

I think Florida is the worst place to ride. From a riders stand point,.. and from witnessing ass hole riders with no respect for their own life.

My wife said that Hillsborough county is 'THE' nations worst for motorcycle related deaths with an average of 1 every week.
