What team is this guy really with?
Hmmm...The juice must have been good this morning.
It is a proven FACT, that the economy of TODAY, is a result of the PREVIOUS administration. Not the current one. So, you are enjoying the results of Mr Bush's administration.
On Alaska's industries, do you REALLY believe that none of the OTHER 49 states have big money industries supporting them? Look at California....They have one of the LARGEST industries, and are having ALL KINDS of issues. It's not about the industries, its about the state and local government and how they can run their state. Palin did well in Alaska. I don't see YOU running for a governmental office....I mean, since it's so easy and all......They get paid some good coin.
As for a SOCIALIZED health care system...Dude, you REALLY don't see Obombers socialistic ways yet here? I know quite a few canadians. (I used to live in Seattle, and traveled there often) Why do you think a LOT of Canadians come down to the States to have health care done? Because it's better healthcare here. Canadians are not in the best of health. We aren't either, but we're not as far down the list as the canuks.
Let me give you an example....You have 10 people who work for a living. 5 are in a socialized setting, and 5 are under a capitalistic setting. The 5 who are socialistic, put all ther money into a big jar....It is everyone's money. Everyone earns the same thing no matter how hard they work. This eventually ends up in one person working their ass off, and 4 who simply show up.
In a capitalistic environment, they all work hard, they get rewarded by higher pay. Some will be more wealthy that the others because they are working harder or they have a more valuable skill set. I would say that a doctor is a pretty valuable skill set. I mean, could you do an apendectamy? I didn't think so.....but your kid might die without one. So you pay out the ASS for that surgery. If you take away the ability for doctors to get paid more for certain specialties (i.e. a proctologist vs a vascular surgeon...The pay is WAY higher for the vascular surgeon) then you take away the desire to specialize as well as the desire for more $$$. A socialistic system works in THEORY only. In reality, it breaks down and no-one is happy.
Welcome to the real world.

fuelie, how did you "lose" everything in the Bush admin and doing well now? doesn't make sense. Or maybe everyone else is imagining the double digit unemployement. I'll say by the same right the bush admin must have been great, I was begging for employees and hiring constantly due to increasing business under bush, as the economy tanked (what I call Obama entering office) not only have I hired 0 employees in the past year, I have laid off employees or terminated employees and brought no one in to replace them.
And it's not just me, I guarantee you.
I'm happy you're having a good year, but maybe you are just doing a really good job or are in a good circumstance or location, and I applaud you for that.........but that doesn't mean our country as a whole is in the same position.
And it's not just me, I guarantee you.

US will never get it as organized as they have it. Canada has thier stuff together on the healthcare. Canadians bitch about thier taxes but have no worries when it comes to healthcare

For your second one, a LOT of people drive cars....So mechanics will always be necessary and needed. If you own your own shop, then you should be golden no matter WHAT the economy is doing. Yes, it'll hurt a little, but it will survive.
You said before that you are in an industry which relies on the economy. Pfff...I disagree.
I own and operate a martial arts school. This is considered a "luxury". No-one feels they really "need" to train in martial arts, but they sure as hell "need" a car. See what I'm saying? And I haven't shut my doors yet. Granted, I only have like 12 students currently, but I'm not closed yet. I haven't noticed ANY difference in the amount of calls per month by interested parties since now and before Obomber went into office. In fact, I think it was better BEFORE he got shoved in there. At that time, I was located in Ridge Manor, and was charging $79 per month. I had 30 students then. I have since lowered my prices to just $45 per month, and you would be surprised at how often I hear "I can't afford that right now". REALLY? I'm the lowest priced in Tampa except for non-profit organizations like the YMCA or the county programs. So, my business is reliant on the economy being good...With a good economy, my business thrives. In a poor economy, it tanks or could even go under.
Don't try to make us feel sorry for you when you're employed or own your own business making 70,000 per year. It simply won't work.
The canadian health care system failed as a communal system. Ours is bound for failure as well. Theirs was put together well...Ours is not. Period.
If that Old Splineless Dork that chose a Flat out Idiot as a running mate won the Presidential seat the Dow would be at 6000 and gas would be $4.00 a gallon.
We got stuck with the better of two evils but that ain't sayin' much,Obama hasn't lived up to the hype and he should pull all troops out of AF NIGHTMARE GAN!!
