Same block, different bore/stroke. They fit fine.

vin comes up as original z code car available from ford w 390 or 427 and some other nice upgrades as well

I'll post some pictures later when i get to work of the installation of the "kit" where you have to cut and plate the shock towers in order to make a BBF fit. I know for a fact they both didn't come from the factory with 390s tho

my bad...it was a Fairlane not a Galaxy
but ill still post some pix of the 514 install

Yeah the 390 is the biggest engine Ford made, if it fits anything should.....

I beg to differ:: 1966-7 fairlane had the option of 390 fe or 427 fe

in 69 the fairlane turned into the torino and was available with 428 cobra jet they shared the same name in 68 torino/fairlane.........
