Pretty basic question. There are tons of reasons why they would want them to fail. They now have the means to do it. It's like gm just got a serious bankroll behind them that ford can't touch. Wondering if the government will be offering big assed rebates on really low priced cars. Not sure if they care how much they lose as opposed to getting the car companies to do what they want.

Other hand if they lose a bunch of money come re-election time might be a bad thing. Wonder if they got rid of or aquired the competition if it would make they job easier.

Maybe i'm nuts. Either way post up and let me know which answer you picked so we can look back in awhile and see who was wrong or right. Thinking within 18 months personally.

 

Doubtful. How great is the faith in the government right now? Now add to that they will be selling you a car with that trust lol. Ford has stood strong through this and I believe will continue to.

 

Any time the gov gets envolved with business it is not a good thing, hopefully Bill Mullaly can see it comming just like he did with the issues GM, Dodge are going through right now. If the gov does step into Ford it will be seen as aggressive and not preventative.

 

I think it's going to be tough for Ford. Afterall, they are in direct competition with the people ho make the rules. If Ford is selling better than GM and Chrysler, just change the Cafe Standards etc. If it raises the cost of production, that hurts Ford while the Feds just raise taxes to cover it for their companies. End result is Ford is screwed and we are screwed. I can't believe the American people are allowing this crap to happen. Where are the psycho nut cases when we need them?

 

I'm sure Govt Motors will be installing a special black box in all cars. This would let the "Car Czar" know when you are driving too fast, accelerating too fast, or doing anything that would jeopardize fuel economy. Not to mention let them track where you are going.
Get in a crash and your cars info will be emailed directly to the Govt run health insurance and soon to be car insurance forcing your rates to go up.
You think that's not going to happen?

IMO GM (and others) should be out of business. Its their fault they spent all their money on stupid things....then we give them a bail out and they turn around and spend it on bonus's, huge parties, etc.

Where is my money? Its like this: "hey guys (all of my employees) we just finished a motor job and just got 5k cash....lets to to the stip club!" ok we spent all 5k....damn that was fun though. End of the month bills are due.....call the government "Ya we need some help paying our bills, can you help?" the government says sure here is a check for 10k. "Hey guys the stupid ass hats in Washington sent us a check for 10k....off to the stip club again!"

Seriously? Why cant I run my business like that and keep getting bailed out.

Its a shame that more than likely I am building a business that I will never be able to hand off to my kids someday.

The government just needs to stay the fuck out of businesses. The only exception that should be made to that rule is the people that enforce the laws and make sure the businesses arent practicing anything unethical and/or fucking everyone/everything out of their hard earned monies.

Fuck bailouts... I hate them. Biggest waste of time and effort ever just so these asshats that run these businesses can run them into the ground for a second time all the while laughing on their way to the bank.
