I don't give a fuck if you're a Yankees fan, BoSox fan, or a dick-suck fan. You aren't going to pay admission to be disappointed.

So yes, ticket sales go up, fans come out of the wood works, and people start showing their pride finally. That's the natural course of events.

How much of "proud" a fan would you be in the Sox if they were 96 losses next year? Not much.
Not realy true.......been a Lightning fan since the first game against Chicago and have been going to the games ever since. Granted attendence does get better when there winning, but I attribute that to those that have moved down here and still love there original home teams until TB teams start winning then they switch over to being a TB fan.

Went to the game last night and it was pretty awesome. The boys don't lay down when things get rough. And yeah, I've been to several games this year, But, I'm not gonna pay up to $100 bucks or more for a ticket, $4 for a pretzel and $3 or $4 for a coke (don't know what a beer goes for, I just assume I don't want to know) to watch overpaid players play like little league. Shit, I'm not gonna pay $100 bucks for a World Series ticket. Now, if they would line the field with appropriately attired cheerleaders instead of fat security guards I might reconsider.

Eh, all respect due, not really. The Sox have averaged at very least 20K per game since 1967, 25K since '86, and havent dipped under the 1 million fan/season mark since '67. That beats the AL average every year for 20+ years. As has been well documented by Yankees fans, we weren't all that great (and sometimes absolutely heart breaking) for many of those years. I'd still be up there a couple times a year as I have been since I left if they lost 120 - it's more about the game, history, and environment in some places than it is being part of the next flash in the pan. That's also why I'm not a huge fan of the warehouse the Rays play in...

I'm sure the Cubs and Yanks share similar numbers among other teams. For all the Rays fans who attended 4 or 5 games a year since the beginning and sat through the misery and mistakes - congrats on the division championship and it's gotta feel great to finally win. Hell, I hope a good rivalry/culture develops down here as I'm not moving back up to MA anytime soon. However buying a new "Rays" hat or jersey and talking sh#t doesn't make you a fan.
