The 2 Johns, McCain and Edwards. I could see that ticket and vote for it.

Yes, McCain WAS (past tense) agains UFC. He has since been quoted as saying this: McCain's opinions have now been revised and he is quoted as saying: "The sport has grown up. The rules have been adopted to give its athletes better protections and to ensure fairer competition."

That was from the first web site you gave. Basicly, he was opposed to UFC when it FIRST came out. As MOST people were. It allowed a LOT back then that is not allowed now. Yes, UFC is advertised as being "No Holds Barred", but it is not truely that anymore.

McCain, an avid and lifelong boxing enthusiast, was horrified when he was shown a tape of an early UFC.
Well DUUHHH!! The first few were a spectical to say the least. And, to add to it, the rules that are enacted today were not in effect back then, so I would be against it the way it was as well.

Do you think it is possible for someone to be upset with the way something is run, then when that something changes, they then accept it?

The first website you listed showed exactly that. The second website you provided was written in 2003, and the UFC was still once again emerging and Senator McCain had not seen a new bout since the revisions in 2001. The third website was from 1998. Too old to be current information on a persons current views. Especially since Senator McCain was quoted in 2007 as saying that the sport had "grown up".

Here is a more current article that refrences Senator McCains current beliefs: UFC night proves a hit - Telegraph

I don't mean to be arguementative, but...I still see no solid proof that Senator McCain is currently trying to put MMA fighting out of business.

And thats your right M1diablo. I respect you for that. I am voting for him because he has a lot of the same values that I do on our country. His beliefs in the war, and his actions towards illegal immigrants are key to my voting for him. I guess our two votes will cancel eachother out. LOL

No doubt. I just like Giuliani a little better. I mean the guy publicly stated he would personally execute Bin Laden! I think that was when I decided to vote for him

Yeah, I used to like Rudy, but his views on Abortion were kinda a deal breaker for me. Also, Rudy is pro-gay rights...Another deal breaker for me.

Did you know that Rudy did business with Qatar, a US ally which protects al-Qaeda?

He also avoided military service in Vietnam with a deferment.

He also wants to change the rule barring immigrants from running for president.

I could go on and on, but I won't. Suffice it to say, there are enough things I disagree with him on to steer me away from him.

McCain isn't soft on alQueida either though, and wants them shut down. However, I think that as ex-military, McCain would be more willing to support our troops and approve the things that they need to do their jobs effectivly.
