Military discharge long form of DD214. They still accept these dont have to take ccw coarse

 

was told by State Licensing Board that discharge must be within 1 year. I also have seen someone's packet rejected because their discharge didnt say Honorable, It said General, which is what most people are getting now, until they write and have it made into an honorable. Mine said General and I had to have it changed to re-enlist, so be careful.

The difference in general and honorable is just the code they enter when they fill out your last review (commanders review not NCOER) It asks for a code that defines your discharge and ability to re-enter, its called an RE code, its either 1 2 or 3 re1 states that the commander would like you to be able to re-enlist without any break in service (which doesnt penalize you and he must give you a re-enlistment bonus if you re-enlist with less than 30 days nreak in service) RE-2 says that it requires a waiver (which means no bonus) and RE3 means bad guy no re-enlistment even if god gives you a waiver.
RE1's get honorable without any further action, RE2's get general and can get waiver to have it changed to Honorable. and RE-3's get a general without any chance to get it upgraded. Dishonorable requires a staff officer to sign off to issue dishonorable.

so most commanders give out RE2's because they want to punish you for not taking their offer at your exit briefing. (my case) they can also take pay grades for RE2's (my Case)
