Default New Dude Here

What up TR

In a nutshell, my real name is louie. Im an BreakBeat/House Dj/Producer & Radio Host out of Kansas City, im turning 26 in 1 month, obviously im a dude, I came here because im a big car nut. Used to be a mechanic. I had an 89 prelude si turbo. ran 29psi with 481whp. it was a fun car til i got rid of it. stupid me.

anywho me and my lady amber come to tampa/st.pete twice a year for the past few years now. I dont like being in KC really. I wanna live in st.pete where i go when come down there. I usually stay out in Meridea Beach area or basically pinellas county.

We like to scuba and other shiz too. But what really caught both of our eyes is we would drive all over and 1 night we were out we seen some racing. We didnt say anything to anyone, we sat and watched from inside our slow rental car.

We both get into the local racing scene here in kansas city. I come from a local forum. Its kcsr.

We have over 20,000 members with about 10,000 who area always active.

The tampa bay area is our home away from home. We area going to move there one day. Were addicted to the palm tree's, beachs and being able to just walk around in shorts and sandals all the time. Its just we have too many ties to KC right now.

thanks for your time.

louie.... aka dj ethan smart

hi . i used to live in merriam, ks (just outside of kc, ks) and hated the whole area and state in general but i had always heard that the kcmo side was better

good that you are a dj, hopefully you have introduced them to real music and not top 40 over a beat like i used to have to put up with out there . being from chi, home of house music, it drove me nutz

good to hear there is a car scene as well.

was your turbo lude an h22 project?

enjoy the site

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

i used to live in kc,ks

KC,MO isnt any better. trust me. not alot to offer.

on my radio show, 90.1 FM and also Welcome to KKFI 90.1 FM, its on wednesday nights from 10pm to 1am central standard time. we play alot of breakbeat, house and trance. we do play other genre's but not to often. really has to be good stuff.

and no i dont do top 40 over a house beat. not my style. its stupid popular here and so are mash up's. the radio show im on, just the co-host for now. in a few months im taking over as the host. well the show has been on for 8 years now and its been the same host since, ive been there for about 6 months now.

as far as the racing scene, its pretty secretive. we keep alot of it hush hush.

we used to get 300 to 400 cars on friday and saturday nights, but that got out of control and the wanna-be gangsters started bringing out there grandma's grand am's and such, so we just disbanded from all that and kept it a nice secret. the racing is good, we usually have about a good 50 to 60 cars, all of us know each other, all have a project going on or driving it.

as far as the prelude, no it was the b20a5 engine that came in it. had it sleeved, forged bottom end, headwork, i did all the wiring and tuning all myself on the car. i did all the engine build too, i was the guy who hated paying shop prices, thats why i did it all myself.

i sprayed it flat black, 16inch rota wheels, sticky tires, big turbo and lots of praying while tuning it on the dyno....lol

the fun part was having a 3inch exhaust coming off the turbo, and it ended right under the shifter, no muffler, no silencer's, no emissions and was dumping the wastegate thru a 1 ft long tube that pointed to the ground, the car sounded like a freight train when in full boost!

here is the only picture i have left of it when my comp crashed.

thanks for the link to your show. sad to hear that they still love the b.s. that i had to put up with when i when out but good to hear that you and some others are playing the real stuff

sounds like you guys have the same problems with car meets that we have here and probably everyone has across the US

i stopped going to car meets over 2 years ago. now I autocross and go to the drag track to run. i like hanging out and talking cars but when people when out to race it's just stupid so i left it behind.

sounds like the lude was scary. my friend has that gen with an h22 na. so many vaccum lines lost their lives when he did the swap

what is/was the name of the area where all the bars are in kcmo? kelly something or??? we played sand volleyball every week at a club down there.

i called Kansas home of the Borg and I escaped the collective when I moved to FL

well they used to have just the westport district with kellys bar and grill that was the most popular, then there was america's pub and some other places. it was the big hotspot

then the legends came along up in kansas city, ks. they built the nascar track up there and it went off big time with business.

and for about year or so we have had the power and light district over in downtown kcmo. its a hit cause of all the clubs.

but like we both said, its all top 40 remixed to a dance beat or the original song being played. kc is behind the time so much, heck the midwest is. its really bad.

we actually have 2 electronic shows in this city, mine and my buddy DJ C-Vaughn

c-vaughn does his show on saturday nights from 10pm to 2am on 96.5 the buzz. i think his link is 965 the Buzz - Homepage

he is the big dawg in this town, any big electronic show, he throws it. he puts on about 2 or 3 a year.

as far as the prelude being scary. i got made fun of alot until i had a turbo on it. lol

i lived in redneck ville and everything was v8 this and that. then when i rolled out with some power they started thinking it was cool.

and your telling me about vacuum lines, i removed almost all of them. once i redid my wiring harness and then did an obd0 to odb1 conversion and used p28 ecu and did some custom rom tuning on the dyno, i was able to basically make everything work like butter

i wish i had the h22 in it, with 29psi i would have made another 100hp or 150hp. but i didnt have the money for an h22 so i stuck with what i had. it was the bastard honda engine but i didnt care, i did everything in my garage, with some help of course from my friend william.

not for sure, but you ever heard of turboedit. an obd0 ecu tuning program for honda's

he created that software. its just like chrome and all the others, but its just for obd0 only.

we went to visit some friends in SC last year and it was the same thing up there. their friends were only impressed by imports when they were fast.

i know about turbo edit but not the history. i think my friend used it on one of his builds.
