Eagles Breakfast meet and Greet....... some details

Would you join us on February 19 2023 for breakfast?

Pete says that on Sunday FEB 19th some people will meet in the parking lot next to the Eagles Club House 16101 Nine Eagles Drive 33556 Odessa/Tampa/Keystone, at 8:00 AM. We’ll leave by 8:15 so as to drive together for conversation and socializing over breakfast in Oldsmar. We are planning to arrive around 830AM at Daddy's Grill (3682 Tampa Road 34677) You can also drive over individually and/or meetup at the restaurant.

Whether you like cars or golf, or have other interests that will come out in good conversation with friends, It will be a fun time.

There may be no rush on finding a "hobby car". Take your time. Make a good decision.
There is a variety of car owners at Keystone Motor Club who can also give you some opinions.

The address at 16101 Nine Eagles Dr. is the Eagles Golf Club clubhouse where we have enjoyed hamburgers.

A suggestion running list of what Eagles Car Club can be done to improve the car club.
Anyone who has attended a meeting is encouraged to add their observations or suggestions to this list,
maybe to be discussed at meetings if the car club wants to get better. May be to be considered as brainstorming to get better.

1. Question: What is being done to make Eagles Car Club better?
Do we ask HOW to make it work, or just dismiss suggestions as "that won't work".
Do we rely on suggestions from everyone or limit suggestions to only one person?


2. Sponsor a golf tournament.


3. Have an activity that members can attend.
Here is a list so far from informal conversations
-----Have a shooting day at a local range.
-----Have a day at the horse races (down the road at Tampa Bay Downs Horse Track)
-----Attend a car show, meeting or a car cruise-in held by another club. How do members find out about them?
-----Breakfast together at Daddy's Restaurant, or some other. Any suggestions?
-----A driving tour or leisure drive to a varying destination..monthly? every other month? What are some places?
-----Cook some hot dogs at a park where it is quiet enough for conversations to be heard.
-----Maybe a photo day of member cars at an activity at the same time.
-----Maybe a photo from each meeting to be placed into the club history.
-----Who can do the picture taking?
-----What suggestions were made at the last meeting?


4. Start a facebook page with a schedule to keep members informed of other car activities to attend if they want to,
either individually or as a group.
.....a.Use the facebook page to promote the Eagles Car Club with items which may or may not be of interest to everyone,
............but may be of interest to potential members.
.....b.Who has an interest and who wants to take charge and start a facebook page?
.....c.Who knows how to?
.....d.Who has any time to?
.....e.What are some things that could go on a facebook page? What are member suggestions?
.....f.Is there any kind of suggestion form for meeting attendees to add their input?


5. Build the membership first, so as to have money in the treasury to promote club activities.
.....a.What are ways to reach other car enthusiasts in the Eagles neighborhood?
.........1.placement of signs mentioning Monday meeting nights in locations that are not HOA controlled.
The last two blocks leading to Race Track Road are not HOA controlled and probably neither is anything beyond the gates.
.........2.placement at stop signs where they will be noticed.
.........3.where were signs placed to promote last years toy drive? What was the process?
.........4.When a member sees a potential member car, follow him until he stops and hand him a flyer mentioning
Monday night meetings.
.............a. anyone have a copy machine to make flyers?
.............b. Who is artistically talented to design a flyer?


6. The Monday night meeting on the last Monday of the month needs to be held in a quieter part of the clubhouse
so that attendees can be heard, and so that items of interest to the club can be discussed.
......A-The patio is almost totally quiet. What prevents meetings from being held there?
......B-A large room with people enthusiastically playing games or other competing conversations does not
have quiet in the room for club meetings.
......C-Meeting tables could be re-arranged so as to allow conversation and suggestions from members to be heard.
............1-A long table with the President at one end and 6 to 8 people down the sides does not allow people
to be heard at the opposite end.
...............Members at the sides of a long table cannot hear anything at the other end, or any further than
the person next to, or across from them.
.......................a. How many attendees can tell you what was discussed at the last two meetings?
.......................b. What was discussed?
.......................c. Were any minutes or notes emailed to attendees following Monday meetings?
...............................1.Are any reminders sent out of a next meeting, and potential items for discussion?
...............................2.What is the procedure for something to be added for discussion?
...............................3.Who has time to email versus time to make a facebook post.

............2-Experiment with ways to be heard at club meetings by moving 4 tables temporarily
.........................into a cube, =seats 8 people closer together than a long table.
...................-Moving tables into an "L" with the president at the center outside of the "V" has eye contact
.........................and seats 11 people closer than 11 people around a long table.
............3-What are some other table arrangements that can be tried?
