Drifting at Showtime Racetrack (old sunshine speedway)
^ yes, this wasnt an "official" meeting. It was pretty much an ice breaker for the new owners. There will be a meeting in about 2 weeks where it will be more in depth and specific. Again, there are a couple of drifters/supporter that have also been contacting mrs Yoho regarding setting up an event at the track once it opens... It would be great to have the more established/experienced drivers to show their support in addition to the rattle-canned squad and 'tude queens..........
I'd be down to show up and support just need a heads up
Are you talking about drifting the rolla Rey?
I will post up on here and on a few other places Ive been told to once info is available..
Note: by no means am I saying that I am responsible for the "possibility" of having drifting at the track. I am merely taking the initiative by staying connected with the owners for the sake of communications. I am not the 1st to have communicated with mrs Yoho, She said Jason Jiovani did, but I have volunteered to be a "channel" for such communication. - <-- This is in response to a PM I just received stating "who am I to say that I am the point man for this...?..." I never said I was, I only have taken my free time to call, email, Facebook and visit the owners in person in order to express interest and offer my help in spreading the word. That is all so please calm down. By no means am I trying to take credit for anything. Can't believe the infant-like attitude some people have ....
@ Not You - YES, I am planning to drift my TE72 (unless I pick up another TE72 or Ae86)- But I will take part in this one way or another.

(I dont know who PM'ed you, but the problem is that about 10 people said they would talk to them- too many of this and its going to irritate people/end the idea before we get an event)
Well, the meeting- information they had was:
Track will have drifting.
Not until May or later (waiting on DoT to remove property- the owners currently do not have access to the oval)
It will be cheap to drive.
Events will be Sunday from 9am-3pm or something close.
Cars will have to pass tech - but no clarification on what that is.
Tandem he mentioned needed firesuit/gloves... but didnt say cage- though I think he will require it.
There will be driver's meetings prior to driving, miss it - dont drive.
There will be rules, break them, good bye.
There will be concession open (though we usually bring our own food.
He is hoping to attract general spectactors by having promotional demos during saturday night with a few of the better drivers- who will NOT get paid, but will NOT be charged to drive it.
Track is smaller than OSW/Desoto, with a more mild bank.
As far as I know I am the point-man still, but if they keep telling us we both are it will be point-less.
He is very adamant that its HIS WAY, and he doesn't care about other venues event styles. We will see how it goes from here.
There is/should be a Facebook group "Showtime Drifting" by Friday. This will be the MAIN source of information moving forward with this track. If you want to know, get in it.

you guys were talking about having to meeting some where, you guys said qsl. back in the day it was every thursday after 8 pm is when people would show up, mainly cause the hot rods would head out before 8pm. it died out after Tim past and no one was keeping up with the updates, maybe we could start it back up and show the Yohos its a big thing around here. we need to set some rules about being at qsl, mainly no drifting in the parking lot, no burning out, and no street racing
