I was going to do this exact thing. Infact, I had a 89 coupe set up nice and it only costed me about $1000.
Good running auto coupe $500
5 speed swap $300
Lowering springs $30
I/H/E $60
Welded diff $50
misc $60
Said fuckit and sold the car to my friend for $1500

 

Also just throwing this idea out there to for the car/nissan community. it can also be a car to help ppl like David48 to learn to work on cars and actually build something. like install engine, tranny, suspension parts, things like that

 

pretty much the exact reason i'm doing this, not only to get me in a driftable chassis, but others who want to learn or don't have the car for it as well.... nothing but good intentions for the local drift community...

as for not wanting to trash your own car, i have two prime examples of people who've already donated, miataspeed, and petes_S13, Miataspeed has a FC RX7 with enough mods done to it, he doesn't want to track it anymore, but still wants to slide... and Petes_s13, he told me he just swapped in his RB25, and doesn't want to drive it on the track, so he's throwing in to save his car, and to learn how to drift in a chassis he can go all out in.... so think about it, he learns on this car, gets good, and gets confident, then he'll start driving his own car, know how to handle it, graduate to a higher power level, and start tearing it up in a RB S13... it's a win win

currently 5 lug, but selling to cover costs of the shell ($200), and to finance some needed parts... so any 4lug stuff will help! i have a FMIC on the way, so piping would definitely be a plus!!

yeah man, like i told empire, it's my way of giving back, and supporting the sport for new drivers, and car conservationists lol..

ya know, that's something i never thought of... the actual learning process of "building" a car, swaps, trans, boosting etc etc... good point!!!

Agree with boxmod, another thing is that a lot of ppl in the drift community is very irresponsible (tyler chewing aka as fidel cashflow on TR), and might cause a lot of drama. so make sure you dont just start taking parts from everyone. cuz trust me,,,, you'll have a big headache later on.... lol

so this is my way of giving back, just a cheap, beater alternative lol.... ride alongs from you, sean, and a few other drivers got me as good as i am (still not saying much LOL), so this is my attempt to pass the torch if you will to new drivers, or to people who don't want to destry thier shit at desoto lol

hell, miataspeed has donated a AEM adjustable FPR, 550cc injectors, and a couple other things, already a several hundred dollar value in parts, just to help see this project through....
