Default Vaughn Gitten Jr drifting 2010 Mustang in Japan

Introducing the 2010 Ford Mustang | Ford Vehicles

Not sure if anyone has seen this, saw a link advertised at the top of the website. Vaughn Gitten Jr drives a slightly modded GT in J-land. There's a few other vids on the site featuring Keiichi Tsuchiya and other drift related things. The new look of the stang is growing on me and I love seeing it get sideways here. The japs seem to be digging it in this vid. Ford really wants it to appeal to drifters. It needs to lose weight though.

is it just me or does it not seem right... you think american muscel you think straight line.. not sliding sideways around a drift track let alone in japan... i understand the 05 falken and the bfg mopar charger but it seems things are going more jdm wanna be drift... im sure some of the ford guys feel the same ??? just doesnt seem right...

well im off to a crappy start in the drifting section as is but, yeah "drifting" wasnt started in japan. its been around sense the early 50's in america, it was called power sliding... you know it all, they DID however make it its own sport!

so to me... no i see amer. cars as drifting cars also, if a car can cut a corner it can must likely drift it....

i have a drift mustang that im building now, most of you hate me because of it already, mainly because i said a seat and full susp. arent needed to drift lmfao

i love the new stang but dang another 15lb's of weight??? come on ford!!

there thinking oh damn all these need are weight reductions and suspensions lol, drifting with a lot of hp on a racing drifing style like they do they pull on the 240's and 350z's all day in the straights and its easier to throw out that car and keep it out. i know whp isnt a must, but neither is susp. it just makes it easier lol. (although 3800lb's tends to be a higher priority on the susp. then a 2800lb car lmao)

i agree though it looks odd seeing/hearing a viper sideways next to a 240...

haha

even tho the mustang and the 350 have practicly the same hp. and the 350 is a 6cylinder weird think the domestic car companys needa start tuning there shit.
