ok, this is just me thinking. why not just buy a gsx and then do the rwd conversion? instead of having to do 2 conversions? its still the same car, but it came factory (a more promising install) with awd. and then you can do your rwd conversion. less fuss, less work, same product.

there is a reason the GS-T is FWD.. I dont think you have the money or knowledge required to make it RWD. upkeep for it would be a bitch too. goodluck. blake fuller made his integra rwd and it cost like 1000000$ so have fun with that. or just learn to slide a FWD car, scandanavian flick ftw!!

heres some pointers.

I thought the GS-T and the GSX was the same frame? so in theory you would just buy the GSX crap and bolt on.

this is what I thought was the deal with the Eclipses:
Mitsu
RS-GS same frame meaning different engine placement and no provision for the rear end
Toyota
ST-GT-GTS same thing as above

Mitsu
GS-T - GSX same body, different frame than the RS-GS both have the engine placed different than the RS-GS one (GS-T) is FWD Turbo and the other (GSX) is AWD Turbo both have same engine
Toyota
ST is the same as GT but with a Different engine and engine cradle
GT is same as GTS but its the "narrow body"
GTS "wide body" celica
all are FWD
ALL-TRAC Same "wide body" as GTS but with a totaly different frame and engine

cliff notes:
GS-T can be converted to a GSX but a GS cannot be converted to a GS-T or GSX Just like a GTS cannot be converted into an All-Trac.

all AWD cars mentioned above where AWD from the factory, converting an Integra wich has no Factory RWD brother is going to take alot of money/Time and most important Fab skills.

That "ALL-Trac" celica stuff is completely true. My friend had a 96* and had a complete all-trac drivetrain, absolutely nothing would line up, so he just put the turbo engine in and didn't bother with the awd.

same thing happens with the gsx.

it's not worth the headache.. either buy a GSX or spend the next 3yrs making it AWD with a VCD controller

To buy an gs-x right now would be too expensive. Convertion isn't that expensive. Cheaper to convert that to buy a gs-x. Ongreenperformance.com I think sell a convertion kit. Would be unique having of seeing a rwd eclipse drifting.

its cheaper to convert *IF* the GS-T is in fact the same frame as the GSX, if its not the same frame It will be a nightmare to convert over, if its even posible. On the Celica its imposible to convert a GTS into an All-Trac because on the GTS the gas tank sits right where the rear end would be, on the All-Trac the gas tank sits up higher and pushed back because the frame is different. I figure the Eclipses are about the same.

I read somewhere, that you can easly drop in a 13bt in a eclipse. There is a mount kit somewhere online to do it.
