Question Suspension Question...

Well, I just aquired a 97 SE, and I want to get some basic things done...

I was thinking about struts(front, rear, tie), but I cant decide who to go with. I was looking on ebay and I don't feel to comfortable with their $20 strut bars...What should I be looking for, I know thicker isn't always better, but what is??

Then I was looking at KYB AGX struts, but I am not looking for comfort, so are there any other ideas?? As far as springs go, sportlines were looking pretty good, but I am not sure what the safe limit to lower the car without interference with tires or rims.

I know if I am modding suspension, then I might as well do bushings, is there any brand you recommend when it comes to these? And as a begenning daily driver/ drift car, should I worry about control arms or tierods yet...?

um wow.
you are very confused and new to the world of suspension.

get under your car and first find out if any of your arms are bent?
no..? good.. you wont need to replace these unles you bend them or know why you should replace them.

bushings.. energy suspension makes a pretty cool little kit. check it out.

if you want to get into drifting, bypass the whole strut and spring thing.

find some good used basic coilovers..

suspension is kind of like something you will learn about the more you get into it.

and a 240sx will go as low as you want it to without worrying about shit.

maybe rolling the fenders but thats not till youre into wheel fitment.

and thats in the next issue.

not totally new, but I wouldn't be asking for help if I knew it all!

No, nothing is bent, everything is in place, I definately did that before buying the car.
Anyway, I know coilovers would be my best bet, but they are damn expensive and if I am goin to spend that kind of money, I am not going cheap. Is it harder with springs and struts or something, why isn't it a good idea? This is just a basic daily driver/ drift car.... I don't have that kind of money, but I am definately looking into that for a more future mod. There are so many choices, JIC, Cosco, Tein...I want to make sure I get the right thing first, ya know.
And how long until next issue, because I don't know what rolling fenders are...

I am just saying I don't need to buy the most expensive components when I am first starting to build up, but if coilovers are the only way to go, then I guess I can't complain.

decent, low-end coilovers are in the 900-1100ish range

you don't want to by suspension twice, so do it right the first time.

Expensive coilovers are WELL above 2,200+
