So anyway, back on topic.

Welded diff isn't as great as people make it out to be.

My conclusion.... "drifters" need to stop being cheap asses and buy real diffs.

if that was for me, I don't consider myself a drifter yet

Welded diff, for me anyway, is a cheap alternative to learn with until I can afford to get an expensive, good, diff.

dont take my welded diff comment to heart people...i was more curious than anything. granted, im sure it didnt help much that it was welded, but his accident could have been avoided if he had driven the road a few times.

ive done some grip runs before, but i tell u, its not till my 3rd or 4th run that i increase the pace. ive ran behind bill before, and bills car is setup far better than mine, yet he doesnt push to the limits. no one wins if you wreck the car.

i dont honestly give my 100% approval of the illegal runs, but, they will go on regardless of what i say, so i do say please be careful. if you want to try and add a measure of saftey, have a grip car out front with a radio looking for traffic, animals, etc. also, dont push too hard till you've learned the road.

if u dont want to do over fender, im sure we can find a doner chasis to cut the 1/4 panel sheet metal off, and just weld it over your old one. wont look great, but better than leaving it as/is.

I agree.

I had it in for DD3 and my car absolutely hated it, UNTIL i was sideways.

Waaaay too much understeer until the back end steps out for my liking.

Not sure if it was my suspension setup combined w/ tire choice, but I did not like the feel of it...too much fighting w/ the steering wheel.
