Auto Drifting
Any advice? Right now my drifting is teh-suk due to a lot of things car-related (open diff, balloon tires, blown shocks).
I'm fixing those soon though. Any advice on drifting with an auto? I don't have $$$ to blow on a tranny swap.

tell you its pretty hard and also difficult to control the gears. def have od off. def on wet pavement first. esp since your car is in need off susp repairs and what not. my coupe was auto, but i quickly decided to piece together everything for the 5spd swap.

there are a whole bunch of drift techniques that u may be able to use. the most obvious would be the power over drift style. just take the turn and just try to break traction. the other way u can drift would be to attempt an inertia drift. but im sure that this style would cause you to be going pretty fast or to make some violent steering corrections and counter steering actions. try the low speed power over (powa ova -JDM) or the lower speed inertia drifts. practice in a facility with the absence of trees, walls, and all other obstacles.

I'm drifting my truck.
I was fooling around in a wet parking lot tonight. Mostly in 1st and 2nd gear (top of 1st is 30-40mph). Pulled the eBrake a few times and punched myself in the right knee with it once, so I just stuck to power-over drifting. Pulled off a couple good ones, but I really need to keep practicing. So far, I can pull off power-over's pretty easily, but the other 5 elude my crappy drift skillz.
I think my blown rear shocks are really screwing up my weight transfer too. It's tricky to lose rear traction in this thing because the front is stiff, the back is soft. I tried about 10 times to get an intertia drift going. Made it around once, kinda half-drifted once, and screwed up 8 times.
Gotta learn somehow. I can almost pull off a 180 with the eBrake... that's how I punched myself in the knee. My eBrake is a damn pull handle just above the throttle
Damn Toyota!
