dude that looks like a mk3 supra rear end!! ahhaahh they put independent in a pickup, thats sooooo........to much work. yeah just use the stock rear end and get a locker for it, easy and cheap
. and i have seen a toyota truck with a 7mgte in it so a 2j would fit too. but even the old small trucks are over 3000lbs.

i think with the right set up it would be hot. but the suspension would be critical to get set up right. and a boosted 22r would be more than enough.

"Toycoma" on DG board has a Tocoma sorta-drift truck...

If you're going to have a pickup, it needs to be guerilla style!

Just weld on brackets for shocks and ditch the Leaves and you're there - You don't need much power to break loose then 75% of your weight is up front.

Yup, owner of a 86 sr5 turbo pickup here...

I've messed around with my truck a little, but it really doesn't like to kick the rear end out. I'm playing with the idea of lowering it a little, installing a rear sway bar and installing some adjustable shocks, a lsd and taking it to DDay2... The tight course wouldn't be the greatest for my 'has every option ever offered' (read - heavy, even has a power antenna!) extended cab pickup, but tempting as I don't think I'll have my new corolla ready....

Sure it doesn't take much to break the (one) tire loose but with no weight in the back and no lsd the rears are sort of just along for the ride and stay behind the front wheels... I have a feeling my weight ratio is like 70-30 or even worse! If I play around with It I'm sure I can get some decient drifts in it though...
